AFH Care Portal

How we approach protected health information.

Adult family homes handle sensitive care information. AFH Care Portal is designed with access control, unique staff accounts, and an audit trail so a home can document work in a more reviewable way. This page describes product behavior. It is not a claim that AFH Care is HIPAA-certified, and the public website demo uses sample data.

Safeguards in the product

Controls that match how a small home actually works.

Individual staff sign-in

Caregivers use their own portal accounts. Recorded doses, notes, and corrections can be attributed instead of sharing one binder password.

Role-aware access

Daily work and administration are separated in the product. Staff, settings, audit, and export tools stay with people who should see them.

Append-only history

The audit trail keeps a chronological record of authenticated actions so a later review can see what changed without silently overwriting the original entry.

Care data stays in the workspace

Medication orders, passes, member profiles, incidents, and cash ledgers live in the same portal rather than in disconnected notebooks.

Covered entities

Your home remains responsible for HIPAA.

If you are a covered entity or business associate, HIPAA obligations stay with your organization. A software workspace can support those duties with unique logins, role-aware screens, and history. It cannot take the place of your policies, training, or a signed business associate agreement when one is required.

When you move from demonstration to a live home, we will discuss whether a business associate agreement is needed for your situation. Do not enter real resident information into the public demo.
